How Platform Intelligence Works
A deep-dive into the signals Sphot collects, how they're processed, and what the Intelligence layer actually changes in your production runs.
How Platform Intelligence Works
Platform Intelligence is the system inside Sphot that makes production better the more you use it. This post explains what signals it collects, how they're processed, and what actually changes in your reels as a result.
What we track
For every reel you publish through Sphot, we collect the following signals (with your permission, via your connected platforms):
- Hook retention rate: the percentage of viewers still watching at the 3-second and 6-second marks
- Watch completion: what fraction of viewers watch past 50% and past 90%
- Save rate: saves divided by plays, which we treat as a proxy for high-value intent
- Comment sentiment: positive vs. negative vs. neutral (we do not read individual comments)
- Posting time: exact time published, cross-referenced against engagement velocity in the first hour
How we process it
After 10 reels, the Intelligence layer has enough data to detect directional patterns. After 30 reels, it can start separating noise from signal. After 90 reels, most accounts have stable, high-confidence recommendations.
The key insight we built around is this: platform-wide trends and account-specific performance are not the same thing. What works for a cooking creator is not what works for a fitness creator, even on the same platform. Intelligence is per-account, not platform-wide.
What changes in your reels
When Intelligence has enough data, it changes the following parameters in your production runs automatically:
Hook selection
The strategy wizard now presents hook styles ranked by your account's historical hook retention, not by global popularity. If question hooks consistently outperform statement hooks for your audience, they appear first.
Posting schedule
If auto-schedule is enabled, Sphot posts within the window where your audience has shown the highest engagement velocity. This is re-computed every 30 days as your audience evolves.
Audio style suggestion
The audio style panel in the wizard now surfaces a "recommended for your account" label on styles that have historically correlated with higher retention for you.
Caption length optimisation
The caption generator now targets a character count range tuned to your save rate data, not a default template.
What we do not do
We do not:
- Share your account's performance data with other Sphot users
- Use your data to train shared models without explicit opt-in
- Surface insights when we don't have statistical confidence behind them
- Claim to predict virality (no tool can do that reliably)
Turning it off
If you'd prefer Sphot not to use your historical data in production decisions, you can disable Intelligence in Settings > Intelligence > Use my data for production suggestions. The system falls back to platform defaults.
