A step-by-step walkthrough of producing your first automated Reel with Sphot.

Your First Reel

Producing Your First Reel

This guide walks you through producing and publishing your first automated Reel.

Step 1: Upload Footage

Upload a video file (30 seconds to 5 minutes) to your connected Google Drive folder. The footage should be:

  • Clear and well-lit
  • Relevant to your content niche
  • Preferably vertical (9:16) or horizontal (the system will crop)

Step 2: Monitor the Pipeline

Go to your Dashboard. Within 2-3 minutes, you'll see a new production run appear. The pipeline stages are:

  1. Ingesting — Downloading from Drive
  2. Analyzing — AI perception engine processing frames
  3. Scripting — Generating hook, narrative, and CTA
  4. Editing — Assembling clips, applying cuts
  5. Rendering — Adding motion graphics, music, subtitles
  6. QC — Quality control checks
  7. Ready — Awaiting your approval (or auto-publishing)

Step 3: Review

Click on the production run to see the finished Reel. You can:

  • Preview the video with audio
  • Read the script that was generated
  • See the music selection
  • Check subtitles for accuracy

Step 4: Publish

Click "Approve & Publish" to send the Reel to Instagram immediately, or "Schedule" to pick a specific time.

If you've enabled auto-publish in Settings, this step happens automatically.

Troubleshooting

Reel stuck on "Analyzing"? Large files (>500MB) take longer. Wait 5-10 minutes.

Script doesn't match your style? Go to Settings > Content Preferences to set your voice, tone, and niche.

Quality not up to standard? Ensure your input footage is at least 1080p. The system can only work with what you give it.
